Tour Overview
From Kathmandu it’s on to Pokhara, a quiet lakeside town and the starting point for your three-day trek. You’ll hike through terraced fields, subtropical rainforest, and typical Nepali villages, with stunning views of the mountains to the north. Followed by a 2 night safari in Chitwan National Park.
Day 01: Kathmandu, Nepal
Arrive Kathmandu and transfer to your hotel. This afternoon, meet with your guide for a trip orientation.

Day 02: Kathmandu
Enjoy a morning sightseeing tour around the Kathmandu Valley, you may choose one of the following; Pashupatinath, Bodhnath or Bhaktapur. Pashupatinath; the holiest of Hindu temples dedicated to Lord Shiva the destroyer of the Hindu Trinity. Boudhanath: one of the largest Buddhist stupas in the world, Boudhanath is built around a plinth resembling the holy Mandala. The third city of the valley, Bhaktapur is a storehouse of medieval architecture. In the afternoon, Kathmandu is yours to explore.

Day 03: Kathmandu - Pokhara - Dhampus (6,012M)
Private transfer to the Kathmandu Airport to board your flight to Pokhara to begin your three-day trek.
Arrive Pokhara airport and transfer (about 35 minutes) to Phedi Lake to begin the trek to Dhampus and encounter spectacular views of the Annapurna range, including Annapurna, Dhaulagiri, and Machapuchare. Spend three hours hiking through the deep forest, passing Brahmin’s, Chettri’s, and Gurung’s villages. Dhampus is a beautiful village with spectacular views of Annapurna, Fishtail, Mt. Manasulu and Himal Chuli.

Day 04: Dhampus - Naudhada (2,500 M) - Sarangkot (1,592M)
Today descend to the Surkhet River and then ascend to Naudhada to take in the fabulous view while we stop for lunch. After lunch the trek to Sarangkot is three hours.
Sarangkot sits north of Pokhara and overlooks the valley and Fewa Tal. This village is best known for its sunrise where on a clear day you have an unobstructed view of the Annapurna range, Dhauligiri, and Fishtail Mountain. Another attraction here is to spend an hour paragliding (extra cost) to really view the mountains and the city below or experience the Nepali culture by taking a three hour tour around the city and meet the locals and see how they live.

Day 05: Saranagkot - Pokhara
Descending to Pokhara you will pass through the Schima-Catonopsis forest with many opportunities for bird watching. The last trek to Phewa Lake is two hours . Upon arrival, you will be transferred to Pokhara for the afternoon at leisure. Pokhara is a lively trade route city beautifully situated on Lake Phewa. The rare combination of snow clad peaks and snowfed lakes and rivers has made the Valley of Pokhara one of the most picturesque natural attractions in the Kingdom.
Guests at the Fishtail Lodge are treated to some of the most breath-taking views in the world there's nothing to equal the sight of the sun rising over the Annapurna massif and Machhapuchhare (Fishtail Mountain) - and you can enjoy the view without even getting out of bed.

Day 06: Pokhara - Chitwan National Park
Morning transfer (4-hours) to Chitwan National Park. The Royal Chitwan National Park is the lush Valley of Chitwan situated in the foothills of Churia Ranges, 75 air miles South West of Kathmandu, houses the first National Park of the Kingdom. Enjoy a safari game drive this afternoon and overnight.

Day 07: Chitwan National Park
Indulge in jungle safari activities featuring elephant rides to see the rare one-horned rhino, sloth bear, four species of deer, a dazzling array of tropical birds and perhaps a leopard or tiger. The birdlife is fantastic – some 450 species have been sighted within the park. Also take a dugout canoe ride into the watery realm of the threatened gharial crocodile, mugger crocodile, and numerous waterfowl.

Day 08: Chitwan National Park - Kathmandu
Morning jungle walk, then transfer to the airport for flight to Kathmandu. Private transfer to your hotel for check-in and overnight.

Day 09: Kathmandu
Enjoy a half-day sightseeing tour of the medieval city of Patan. Listed as a World Heritage Site, the former Royal Palace complex is the center of Patan’s religious and social life. Here you will visit the Durbar square with it’s collection of temples, the most famous being the Krishna temple a stone structure instead of the usual brick and wood used for temples in Nepal. Proceed to the Golden Temple, visit the Mahabouddha temple also known as the temple of the thousand Buddha’s due to the carving of Buddha on each brick, Uku and Kwa Bahal. This afternoon at leisure and catch up on last minute shopping and farewell dinnner tonight.

These trips are priced assuming two travelers. Surcharges for solo travelers and discounts for groups, if any, will be applied. Prices assume itinerary is purchased "as is". Minor changes to hotels or hotel add-ons to the beginning or the end of the existing itinerary can be made at no extra charge. Any customization requiring us to start with a new base itinerary will require a non-refundable upfront planning fee of $250 that is creditable towards the final trip price.

Tibet Extension
Day 01: Kathmandu - Lhasa
After breakfast, you are transferred to Kathmandu airport for the China Southwest Airlines flight to Gonggar airport, Tibet. This one-hour flight is spectacular (weather permitting!) over the Himalayan Ranges with excellent views of the mountains including Mt. Everest (8848m) - the highest peak on the earth.
Arrive Gonggar airport (3400m,) you are met for a 90-minute transfer to Lhasa (3650m.) The heart and soul of Tibet, it is a city of wonders. Balance of day to rest and acclimatize.

Day 02: Lhasa
Enjoy a full day tour of Lhasa. Visit Potala the winter palace of the Dalai Lamas. It is one of the most famous architectural works of Tibet & the cream of Tibetan culture. Built in the colossal monastic style of Central Tibet by Gyelwa Ngapa the fifth Dalai Lama in the 17th century, it stands 300m above the valley atop the hill called Marpo Ri. This thousand room Potala dates from 1645 when the fifth Dalai Lama began erecting a palace that would serve as a sacred and administrative center.
In the afternoon visit to the 7th century Jokhang Temple which has architectural features from the Tang Dynasty and from Indian & Nepali Buddhist Temples. It houses many historical relics since the Tang Dynasty and statues of King Songsten Gompo, Princess Wencheng from China and Princess Bhrikuti from Nepal.
Explore the Barkhor market, which was until early fifties a grand, exciting year-round trade fair, crowded with merchants from all over central Asia. The word Barkhor refers to the middle of the three concentric holy circuits around the Jokhang. The Barkhor Circuit runs through the heart of the old city where life has changed little down the centuries and it gives you a curious sensation of having slipped through time into a medieval carnival.

Day 03: Lhasa
Drive (20-minutes) to Drepung Monastery, the largest monastery in Tibet and belongs to the Gelugpa sect. This monastery has plenty of historical relics, Bhuddist scriptures, arts & crafts. Drepung literally means “ heaps of rice” and the fertility of its fields supported a monastic community that before 1959, ranked as Tibet’s largest monastery with 7,770 monks.
Afternoon visit of Norbulingka, the summer palaces of the Dalai Lamas. Every year as the chill air warmed, the Dalai Lama would leave Potala in a grand procession for six months residence in the Norbulingka. It is worth a visit and the park is a great place to be at festival times and public Holidays. During the seventh Lunar month of every year the Norbulingka is crowded with picnickers for the Shotun festival.

Day 04: Lhasa - Kathmandu - Depart
Early morning return transfer to Gonggar airport. Enjoy a scenic flight across the Himalayas to Kathmandu. Arrive in Kathmandu at 9.15 AM, you are met and assisted to your onward connecting flight.
